Good afternoon,

This week we welcomed Discovery Dog and his niece, Nora, to primary 1. They have come to school to help us plan and carry out scientific investigations. On Tuesday we planned and carried out an investigation  to find out which material was the most absorbent and on Friday to find which material is best to be seen in the dark.  We were also able to make connections to the materials our things at home are made from and connect our learning to explain why they are made from the materials they are.

The weather was slightly unpredictable on Welly Wednesday so we took the opportunity to learn how to make dens to protect us from any rain that may fall. It was such a strong context in which to develop team skills . We had to work together to achieve our goal. We had to share ideas and help each other.  We were proud to display our school values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility in our actions.

Digital Literacy took us to the schools ICT Suite and the PCs. We were learning to name the component parts, to log on and log off and to access an app. We will gain confidence as we visit the ICT Suite on a regular basis.

Have a lovely weekend
Mrs.Davie and P1a, Buster, Teddy, Discovery Dog and Nora!
