Good afternoon,

It has been such a lovely week and has been wonderful having the P4-P7s back with us in school.

This week for Literacy the P2's have been learning the phonic sound 'ou' and have been learning to read and spell words including the common words, out, our, about, house, round, found and around. Primary 1's have learned two new sounds ‘oo’ and ‘ee’ and have been learning to read and spell words too.

In Numeracy, we have been continuing to develop our adding skills. P1's have been learning how to use our fingers to support us when adding and P2's have been finding all the addition facts for 13,14 and 15.

Another highlight of our week was, of course, Red Nose Day. We enjoyed sharing all our jokes to make each other laugh on Thursday afternoon. Miss Yorkston didn’t realise that she had such funny children in her class, she thinks that they could all grow up to be comedians someday. The jokes shared were so good that we had real difficulty choosing our three winners on Thursday so we decided to have another go on Friday Morning. A very big well done to Harrison, Amy and Alfie who were chosen as our 3 winners. In the afternoon, P4 led us in a fun egg and spoon race and we enjoyed racing so much that in for PE, we competed in lots of other races too.

Thanks again for returning the reading books today. I will send out another book on Tuesday to return on Friday, before being quarantined over the Easter Holidays.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Miss Yorkston and P1/2
