Good afternoon,
The highlight this week was celebrating World Book Day.
On Wednesday we enjoyed reading `Luna Loves World Book Day', which is one of this years books which can be exchanged for the World Book Day tokens given out on Friday. The story motivated us to share with each other our ideas for World Book Day costumes. It also inspired our writing this week to write a sentence to guess which book character, Charlie Bear would be dressing up as. We were all very surpirsed to see that he was the Gruffalo's Child to match Miss Yorkston's Gruffalo costume.
On Thursday we enjoyed reading and joining in with the story 'There's a superhearo in your book' by Tom Fletcher. This sparked great conversations about what our superhero powers would be if we were all superheroes. We had great fun transforming ourselves into Superheroes. In the afternoon,  we participated in a live author event via TEAMS. Emily Dodd shared her book, 'Crime Squirrel Investigators' with us, as we looked for clues in her illustrations to solve the mystery of the eaten nuts. After the reading, she also taught us some interesting facts about squirrels. Did you know that as well as being able to swim, squirrels can communicate with each other by moving their ears about?
On Friday we took part in a book scavenger hunt. With a partner, we searched all around the garden and playground looking for the books with the items from our checklist. Miss Yorkston thought we all looked absolutely fabulous in our World Book Day costumes.
Have a lovely weekend and please remember to return the reading pack on Monday if you haven't done so already, thank you.
