Good afternoon,
It has been another fun, festive week in P1/2.

On Monday there was much excitement over the arrival of a new class member, 'Elfis the elf'. He was sent by Santa who explained in his letter, that Elfis had been specially chosen this year to help deliver the presents with Santa on Christmas Eve, however there is one big problem Elfis cannot tell the time!  This week the children were especially excited to make their own analogue clocks and have been eagerly using them to teach Elfis how to show and read o'clock and half past times times on an analogue clock. Next week we will learn digital time.

We were slightly saddened by the news that we received our last letter from Katie Morag. This week she asked us to find out about what toys were like in the past. We were all surprised to find out that toys have not changed much over the years and that some of our favourite toys now were also popular with children in the past. We put our technology skills to use and had a go at making the cup and ball toy from the Victorian times. We then had great fun testing our new toys (please see the video on Seesaw)

It was so nice to see the children wearing their festive jumpers for ‘Christmas Jumper day’ today, it really brought a festive mood to the classroom.

Wishing you all an enjoyable weekend.
