Good afternoon,

It has been a very busy and quick week.

On Tuesday, the class visited the local woods. All the children had a wonderful time. They hunted for mini beasts and studied them under the magnifiers. We were all amazed at the variety of beasts that we found. After a quick snack the children then got a chance to explore and play. They had an absolute ball. Lots of children were being adventurous by climbing trees and swinging from branches. Other children were working really well together to build dens which were super impressive. I must say Mrs Greig and I were reallly proud of the children's enthusiasm and positive behaviour on our outing.

In maths this week, the Primary 2 children revised the value of coins, matched amounts of coins to price tickets and also worked out what coins to use to pay the exact cost of something.

The Primary 1 children revised counting in twos forwards and backwards starting with an even number. They then did the same but started with an odd number. The children also practised counting forwards and backwards in tens.

For writing this week, the children wrote a personal piece of writing. They were to write about what they liked doing in and out of school. Their writing will be passed to their next teacher so that she can find out a little about each child before the new school year starts.

For gym this week, the children revisited or learned how to play non stop cricket. Lots of team work and determination was on display during the game. It was great fun and we are going to try and fit in another game before the end of term.

Have a wonderful weekend. I cannot believe that next week is the final week of this school year! Kind regards, Mrs Greig and Mrs Thomson
