Good afternoon everyone,

Drawing Club was lots of fun this week. The children watched an animated episode of the cartoon Trapdoor which they thoroughly enjoyed. Their first drawing club task was to imagine what 'The Master' in the cartoon would look like because you never get to see him. The second task was to think about what kind of house 'The Master' and his servant, 'Burk' would live in. The Trapdoor stimulus created a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. Please look on Seesaw to see the pictures and writing the children completed about the character's house.

P2 are almost finished their topic on numbers to 20. Some children were learning to count in 2s starting with an even or odd number. They also practised counting in 3s and looking at the pattern for doing this. Other children were learning to recognise the largest/smallest number and putting numbers in the correct order starting with the smallest or largest one.

P1 continued to be given opportunities to compare numbers to decide the largest/smallest, to count accurately in ones and twos, to reinforce their knowledge of the days of the week and the associated vocabulary; and to explore numbers in the form of different activities and games.

We had a different start to our Thursday this week because we all got to attend the McMillan Big Breakfast. There were lots of tasty breakfast treats on offer and the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

For project/health this week, the children learned the correct name for different parts of the body. They also learned about the different ways a baby needs cared for and how their nutritional needs change from newborn through to a toddler.

Thank you to all who handed back their child's Christmas card designs so they can be posted off. All of the children made a wonderful job of their penguins. They all have their own individual personality.

We wish you a lovely weekend. Kind regards, Mrs Thomson and Mrs Greig
