Good afternoon,
Our highlight this week was learning about our senses.
On Monday we learned about the sense of sight. We learned that we use our eyes to see and we learned about the different parts of the eye. To practise using our sense of sight we played `spot the difference games` and `find the other half games`.Later we enjoyed sharing the story `Shark in The Park`and looking through Timothys telescope with him.
On Tuesday we learned about the sense of touch. We learned that although we use our fingers to touch, all of our skin can feel. To refine our sense of touch we played a feely bag guessing game. The story of `The Princess and the Pea` made us wonder if princesses really do have much better sense of touch.
On Wednesday we played `Welcome to the Zoo` to refine our sense of hearing. I hope you have managed to click on the link on the Seesaw page to play this with your child again at home. For story time we had to listen really closely to remember all of the sounds Daddy Bear heard in the story,` Peace at Last`.
On Thursday we learned more about the sense of smell, using our noses to guess the smells in the jars. The fabric softner was our favourite smell. The story `What A Bad Dog` where Floppy barks to wake up his family to warn them of the fire, highlighted the importance of our sense of smell and led to a wider discussion about how each of our senses keep us safe.
We completed the week of senses with `The Crisp Challenge`, tasting different crisps and working out their flavours. Dont be surprised if your child has you carrying out similar `taste tests` all weekend!
Finally, I hope you enjoyed visiting the class area this afternoon. If you couldnt make it today please share the `Virtual Tour` on Seesaw with your child. I am sure they will love telling you all about it!

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs.Davie, Ted and P1.
