Good afternoon,

This week we have proudly been sharing our photographs of who cares for us at home. By looking closely at our photographs we also became aware of how we share similarities with our siblings and parents. We made links to what we had learned last week about our genes on `Genes For Jeans Day` and how our genes come from our parents so share characteristics.

The concept of similarities and differences was further explored in PE during our playground game of `Mama May I Cross The River?' where only children with certain physical characteristics could cross at each time. We soon discovered that although we have similarities we also have differences. To investigate, we created `Human Graphs`, as you can see in the photographs. This made it easy for us to interpret and find out about our similarities and differences.

Finally we read a story about The New Baby and learned that to tell if a newborn baby is a boy or a girl we can look at its body parts beacuase although  boys and girls have similarities they have different body parts too. In doing so ,we learned to correctly name the body parts of a boy and of a girl.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs.Davie
