Good afternoon,
We started off this week being very excited to see that some of our sunflowers had started to grow. We watched a videp clip which had speeded up footage of a sunflower seed growing into a sunflower, to learn what is going to happen to our growing plants. We also learned to name the basic parts of a plant and their functions.
In numeracy we continued our subtraction topic. This week we learned how to answer sums like 5-?=2 , use subtraction language and solve word problems.
In reading we learned how to sequence a story. Following reading our reading books, we read 4 sentences to sequence into the correct order. We learned the strategy of selecting the first and last sentences first, then sorting the two middle sentences.
As part of our STEM topic we helped Hansel and Gretal by making traps to capture the escaped witch. We entered the spirit of Outdoor Classroom Day by creating our traps outdoors using natural resources.
