Good Afternoon everyone,

It is wonderful to finally be back at school! It has been lovely to see all the children so happy and excited about being back together and I have been very impressed by everyone's enthusiasm and hard work this week.

We have been taking part in Discovery Learning each day and we have all enjoyed reconnecting with our friends as we work together to build models, create pictures using the different art materials, exploring the sand, reading books and playing imaginative role play games in our home corner.

A highlight this week was enjoying storytime together once again. One of our favourite stories was 'Foxy and the Egg' and the children were very excited to learn that the letter 'a' can also make the 'o' sound . We used what we learned through this story to learn how to read and write the common words; saw, was, all, wanted, what and was.

Another highlight of the week was getting our first reading book . The children read their story to me in class and were so happy to take it home today to read to you.

Usually I will be sending these reading books home every Thursday for your child to practise their reading skills. Please can you ensure that the reading pack is returned to school on Monday so that they can be quarantined for 72 hours(3 days) before being issued with a new reading book later in the week.

This term our P.E. days have been changed and are now on a Monday and a Thursday, please continue to come to school dressed for gym on these days.

Thank you for your support.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend
Mrs Davie
