This week Xander pointed out a seagull flying off with a piece of litter in its beak! He was horrified and this sparked a week full of meaningful, relevant learning about litter and recycling.
We started off by sharing our understanding of the word `litter' and then used Newsround stories to raise awareness of the effect of litter on our environment.
Newsround also shared many positive stories about how children all over the globe are working towards improving the situation. As a class we decided to undertake some litter picking in our school playground. The litter pickers have become very popular ! We also decided to create posters to tell others in the school to put litter in the bin! Our Reconnector today was also highlighting 'World Cleanup Day' on Saturday 19th Sept around the world.
Sharing our learning on Seesaw has resulted in many children continuing their endeavour around the areas in which they live. Thank you for sharing your wonderful efforts! The children have loved proudly sharing their photographs of what they have been doing with you.
Have a super weekend,
Mrs.Davie and P1
