Dear families,
In our reading groups we are working on reading loud enough to be heard and with fluency and expression. To improve our comprehension skills we are focusing on questioning skills this week. Our writing focus is editing. We are learning to re-read our work carefully. Some of us have been editing favourite pieces of writing we have done in the last few months.

In maths, we are learning to describe and classify 2D and 3D shape. By tessellating 2D shapes and drawing 3D shapes, we are prompting discussions full of mathematical language. We now know that a nonagon is a 9-sided regular polygon. We measured the girth of trees in outdoor learning and calculated their age using the information we gathered.

Our health and wellbeing lesson introduced the concept of consent. The children linked their learning with consent requests at the dentist and doctors in operations.

We hope you have a relaxing weekend,
Mrs Brand and Mrs Elvin.
