To celebrate National Poetry Day this week, Primary 4/5 have been working really well at writing their own acrostic poem based on a character in the rainforest. The Young Writers competition title 'Peculiar Pets' inspired our imagination of different rainforest pets that the children would like to own. Through use of sketch we also drew our perculiar pet and sent this as part of the competition entry!

In numeracy, we have continued to focus on angles, position and direction with the children looking at giving directions to their peers in outdoor learning to collect cones and following directions in their books to discover secret messages.

The children have also been exploring the impact of deforestation in our rainforest topic and some pupils presented their deforestation homework powerpoints to the class.

As always we have had a jam packed week and we are looking forward to having our October break next Friday. Our social target focus this week was 'I can show resilience' and Sadie Chisholm was our class winner!

Have a great weekend,
Miss Graham
