Magnetic madness

The boys and girls have really enjoyed exploring magnetic forces further this week in Science and projecttime. It has been great to see the children use more scientific language to describe which materials are magnetic. In pairs the children then had the opportunity to design a magnetic game that they would like to find in the fairground. We had some creative ideas including dinosaurs and unicorn ‘hook a duck’ activities.

 

The pupils have also explored partitioning, doubles and near doubles in Numeracy. Focusing on using these strategies to help with their addition problems. The individuals were able to confidently partition and add up to tens of thousands.

In Literacy, the pupils had the task of writing an application letter to Miss Graham to become part of an Enterprise team. All individuals had to discuss what skills and qualities they thought would make them perfect for the job and we look forward to finding out next week if our applications have been successful.

We look forward to designing and creating some of our Enterprise items in the next few weeks.
