Well another school week has flown by and our children and families continue to show their commitment to learning at home for which we are most grateful.
We have been delighted with the overwhelming response from parents with regards to our social target set this week. What an absolute pleasure to receive so many emails with detailed examples, and photographs, of how our children have been thinking of others at this time. How lucky we are to have such responsible citizens and effective contributors within our school community. Parents please check your inbox as emails have been sent to all social target achievers.
All planning for next session is underway despite current situation. We are currently confirming classes and will share with you all transition plans, including transition into Primary One and transition from P7-S1 together with transitions from stage to stage. We shall inform you accordingly.
As you know our school benefits from our young leaders and we will be in touch with our current P6s who would like to be considered as Playground Problem Solvers (PSS) in P7. Buddy information will also be issued to our P6s next week.We would also like our P6 pupils to think about any other leadership roles they may wish to undertake in P7. For instance our Junior Leadership Team (JLT) including House Captains and Vice House Captains.
I will be in touch next week with our current P7 pupils with clearer transition plans with regards to S1.
As you will know our Virtual Sports Day commences next week (Monday 11th May'20) Well done and thank you to all House Captains and Mrs Hay who have supported the planning of this. Please keep an eye out for any announcements over the next few days.
Please also keep an eye out for any other special messages from some familiar people to be shared with you over the next few days.
May I take this opportunity to thank everyone (pupils, parents, families and school staff) for their continued efforts and support in this unusual time.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday weekend marking the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Should you be participating in any fun VE Day celebrations we would love to hear about them!
Stay well, stay happy, stay smiling!
Best wishes,
Laura Howie
