Can you believe that we are finished our first term in P3/4?
It seems like no time at all since we were all meeting each other for the first time and getting stuck into all the fun and learning in our new class. It has been a wonderful term and everyone is now ready for a well deserved break.

To finish the term we had our end of term house treat which was a welcomed end of week treat. We also enjoyed finishing up our Dunfermline topic focusing on the role of Andrew Carnegie and how he shaped Dunfermline and how Dunfermline still has lots of signs of his impact/life today. I have personally loved seeing the pupils homework linked to our topic, what a creative and talented group of children. I was especially pleased to see that some children took the challenge to visit some of the places we have been talking about in class.

This week we also introduced our where in colourful semantics. Some pupils can now write the who, what doing, what and where in their sentences while other pupils are beginning to identify these and highlight them in sentences. The P4 pupils had the chance to create sentences with these and the P3 pupils enjoyed a more game like approach (check out the snap game on Seesaw).

We have been continuing our place value work focusing this week on counting in 10s across 100 in P3 and the P4 pupils have been focusing on counting forward and back in 10,100,1000 in their work. Lots of hard work and effort across the board.

I also enjoyed meeting lots of you over the past two weeks for parents evening and I wish you all a lovely break with lots of family time together.

Miss Graham
