Good afternoon,
We hope you enjoyed popping along to the Christmas fayre today. It was lovely to see so many of you out to celebrate this festive time with us and to join in with our enterprise efforts. I am sure that you will agree that our P3 and 4 pupils have done a terrific job at creating some festive decorations and yummy treats for you all. We are also SO PROUD that our products are ALL fairtrade and help those who are less fortunate than us. We have had some really good discussions on our needs and wants in health and wellbeing and once again we are reminded of how grateful and thankful we should be.

We have continued this week with learning a different strategy for addition. We have looked at partitioning and spliting the numbers up. Although we found this tricky at the beginning of the week we have grown in confidence with this. Some of the P4 pupils have even used bigger numbers in their calculations. Please do continue to encourage your child to try daily 10 on TopMarks and this will allow their confidence to continue on their number bonds. This is part of the homework grid and also a daily part of our mental maths in class so home support would be appreciated as well.

In literacy, we have been looking at what a bad one looked like and reviewing and editing mistakes in pieces of writing. We looked at a WAGOLL and we were able to discuss the success criteria that linked to our writing. We also used our imaginations in our story writing as we finished off our BIG writing sessions on characters, settings and using beginning, middle, end in our work.

Another busy week behind, we only have a wee bit before Christmas. Keep an eye on Seesaw for any updates and our learning during the week.

Miss Graham
