Dear parent/carer,
We are delighted to have had two full terms in school with our pupils. Despite the challenges this year has brought, it is wonderful to conclude our term with our children feeling happy, safe and thrilled by their achievements since August.
We have enjoyed a fun filled December and the children have fully embraced all of the festive fun on offer.
Hopefully you will have had the opportunity to view this year's nativity. Well done to all pupils in P1 and P1/2 for this fantastic performance! Thank you to
Mrs Davie and Miss Yorkston for preparing the children so well. Thank you also to Mr Morgan for his recording efforts and Mrs Taylor for ensuring the costumes and preparing the Nativity photograph gift packs.
Our Chirstmas parties were a huge success. Our Christmas lunch was delicious and fun and the online panto was very entertaining!
May I thank all class teachers for their creativity in ensuring parties could go ahead safely.
Santa also supported our Christmas fun by appearing virtually and sharing some special birthday mentions. Thank you to Mark Fisken, chair of our PTA, for his efforts with this.Mark and the PTA committee have continued to be very creative in their approaches to fundraising. Our children benefit greatly from the richer experiences that can be offered by the additional funds the fundraising ensures. Continued thanks to our PTA.
Our Canmore Parent Partnership (formerly known as our Parent Council) have continued to offer support to our school throughout this unique school session and I thank them for their positive representation of our parent body.
Despite continued restrictions and challenges our school has continued to benefit from local community supporters and I thank them for their positive partnership working.
We have been able to achieve so much since our return in August due to the hard work, efforts and resilience of our pupils. They are to be commended for their positive outlook despite, at times, facing disappointment with some aspects of school life being a little different. We continue to be very lucky at Canmore to have the most wonderful children!
Our school staff have continued to work extremely hard and demonstrate commitment to our pupils in ensuring the best possible outcomes for them. This has certainly been a different year for our Canmore team and I wish them a well-deserved and restful break.
This year has been exceptionally challenging for us all and I wish to extend my continued thanks for your support. As parents you have had to juggle work commitments, family commitments amongst other challenges and yet you have supported us in ensuring the children have had the most positive learning and school experience.
You will have received communication issued via groupcall regarding proposed plans for our return to school in January'21.
A Microsoft form for all parents who meet the criteria of keyworker and require support throughout the period of 7th January'21- 15th January'21 has been issued. Please complete this as soon as possible. All forms will be processed and further information will be issued to you on Wednesday 6th January'21.
I look forward to welcoming our school community back in the new term and will be in touch week beginning 4th January'21 with all significant updates and information.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a brighter, more satisfying and optimistic 2021.
Best wishes,

Laura
