Babcock Engineering Challenge

On Wednesday 30th January, Callum and Mark from Babcock came to work with our Primary 7 STEM group.  They set the children the challenge of creating a boat which was stable enough to balance in water and also hold a cargo. 
The children had junk materials and one hour to create their boat in their teams.  This required lots of team work and patience, also trial and error!
Fortunately, Mrs Smithson was on hand and had prepped the groups over the past few weeks so they had designs in their minds and ideas at the ready!  Mr Ritchie also came along to lend a hand and put his many years of working on a aircraft carrier to good use!
Every team worked exceptionally well together and produced designs of varying success!  Our winners were:
